About Our VTC

MBST Vocational Training Centre

The Missionary Benedictine Sisters of Tutzing arrived in Namibia on 20th December 1920. Since then, they have been involved in caring for the sick and educating Namibian children through various means. Currently, the priory of the Missionary Benedictine Sisters is located in Nubuamis Farm Area, which is in the vicinity of Khomas north. Through interactions with the sisters and locals of the area, the living conditions and needs of the community have come to the sisters' attention. In response to their plight, a center was constructed between 2018 and 2019, with the groundbreaking ceremony taking place on 27th June 2018.

The Center was first opened in 2019 for a pilot course in Basic Sewing Level 1. The course started on 14th November and ran until 28th November 2019, concluding with a closing exercise. The total number of hours was 39 (37 hours for sewing and 2 hours for Catechism). The center officially opened its doors on 11th October 2021, offering a range of courses.
